DMC International is a pioneer in developing innovative services for the utilities industry. By adpoting Power Line Carrier (PLC) two-way data communication techniques, DMC International's system enables power meters to take readings several times a day, perform load shedding functions and remotely connect or disconnect services from a central control station. DMC International's technology is easily deployed worldwide and relies on Spread Spectrum Carrier (SSC) communication networks and techniques to provide the most reliable two-way data communication currently available.

Power line Crrier Technology (PLC) communication is a method of having bi-directional communication by using a power line as a transmission channel and superposing high frequency signals over a 100V/230/415V (50/60 Hz) power line Network.
DMC International's new modulation method: Spread Spectrum Carrier

Due to the recent technological refinement, new and advanced power line communication methods are proposed. Since the property of power line route resembles the wireless route, it is a common approach to implement the technology developed in wireless communication to power line communication. By applying technological break-through modulation methods such as Wide Bandwidth Spectrum Spread Method, Multi-Carrier Method, and OFDM method to power line communication, high-speed, high capacity communication is becoming possible. The following is the basic approach to implementation of a new carrier method.

Development of advanced communication technology:

1. Noise attenuation for the transmission channel by incorporating multi-carrier methods
2. Effective use of frequency bandwidth by incorporating Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)
3. Measure against simple transmission error by incorporating error correction
4. Increased speed by taking advantage of wider bandwidth (radio frequency bandwidth)
5. Improved noise resistance through higher transmission output.
Features and benefits of the DMC International's SMARTnET® AMR Fixed Network
Automatic Meter Reading
- Automatically reads the monthly (kWh) consumption of DMC International’s single and three phase consumer meters.
- Automatically reads the daily (kWh) consumption for all of DMC International’s single and three phase meters.
- Reads the Master consumption for each transformer.
- Reads all types of parameters such as kWh, kvarh, kVah, current, phase failure, demand, tariff, positive and negative energy, power factor and other factors for multi-function CT type meters provided by DMC International.
- Automatically reads all types of switch monitors provided by DMC International.

Manual Reading
- Users can manually read all measurements and parameters outlined in the automatic meter reading section above.
- Users can manually carry out all types of readings for the Master (multifunction CT) meter at any time.

Real Time Reading
- Real time reading of meters can be carried out in the following cases:
Frozen Account
Transfer Account
Real time reading for the Master (multi-function CT) meter

Billing, Analysis and Reporting Functions
- Monthly billing based on the consumer’s consumption and utility rates.
- Bill formatting and layout based on the utility’s requirements.
- Automatic or manual (recommended) printing of bills.
- Provides lists of consumers requiring disconnection based on company criteria.
-Stores historical files and records for: consumers, meters and master consumption.
- Provides total and detailed consumption for each transformer / consumer.
- Analyzes the type (usage) of consumption.
- Analyzes and reports on abnormal consumption.
- Graphs and charts diagrams for any of the above.

Power Line Wastage and Leakage Analysis
- Calculates power line wastage and leakage (legal and illegal) through the
following methods:
The system analyzes the master consumption
The switch monitors consumption
Reports each functional analysis
Indication of the real value of illegal consumption

Overload Calculation
- Calculates the overload for each transformer based on the capacity of the transformer and the total consumption of the consumers.
- Permanently records each calculation.

Control of Power Connection and Disconnection
- Automatically or manually connects and disconnects the power supply based on billing and payment information.
- Manually disconnects and connects the power supply for maintenance purposes.
- Automatically or manually disconnects or connects the power supply in case of a frozen account.
- Automatically or manually disconnects or connects power supply in case of a transfer of account.
- Automatically or manually disconnects power supply in case of tampering.

Save Consumer Information for up to 30 Years
- Saves the reading data for all meters in the concentrator within each transformer.
- Saves the reading data for each meter in the meter itself.
- Saves all of the reading data in the system.
